Two days ago, Top Dawg Entertainment’s first woman in Hip-Hop, Doechii recently released her new single ‘Crazy.’
On Instagram, the Swamp Princess explains that her single is about “un-contained power, creativity and confidence.”

Off rip, the lyrics already execute craziness but the music video is CAMP-crazy. There’s nudity, guns, cars on fire, and more chaos. Doechii is also pictured ashing a cigarette on her bare arm. It’s provocative and it’s definitely gotten the people going — specifically Youtube.
Unfortunately, Doechii’s music video was banned from trending on Youtube not necessarily for nudity but for the violence, which is quite questionable considering the types of violence that a plethora of artists have captured in their music videos (see Childish Gambino’s ‘This is America,’ Cardi’s ‘Press,’ etc).
Doechii posted a note issued by her director touching on the matter.
In summary, they explain that the video was filled with metaphors that pertain specifically to the type of experience that many women endure as they ascend to power.
One of the most flooring scenes in the music video is when the rapper shoots a woman in the beginning. In the very end, Doechii takes her own life. These events illustrate the tethering experiences between women.
