The mother of George Floyd’s daughter has filed a $250 million lawsuit against Kanye West for false statements he reportedly made on the Drink Champs podcast.

According to Click2Houston, the mother of George Floyd’s daughter decided to pursue the lawsuit after West made false statements about Floyd’s death, saying he died as a result of fentanyl use. However, as revealed by Hennepin County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker during his testimony, “while Floyd’s heart disease and use of fentanyl were contributing factors to his death.”

Floyd’s death was a result of Officer Derek Chauvin pressing his knee down on Floyd’s neck for 9 1/2 minutes as he told officers, “I can’t breathe.” This has been confirmed by Dr. Vik Bebarta, an emergency physician, toxicologist, and professor at the University of Colorado in Denver.

“The interests of the child are priority,” said Attorney Nuru Witherspoon, partner at The Witherspoon Law Group, representing Floyd’s family. “George Floyd’s daughter is being traumatized by Kanye West’s comments and he’s creating an unsafe and unhealthy environment for her.”

West has been sent a cease-and-desist letter via Witherspoon Law Group and Dixon & Dixon Attorneys at Law and the Drink Champs interview has since been removed from REVOLT’s Youtube channel.
