Mass Appeal and Live Nation have officially announced their lineup for Hip Hop 50, scheduled to take place on August 11th.
Happening on the exact day the genre turns 50 via it’s birthplace of Bronx, NY, the day will be filled with epic sets at Yankee Stadium including Run DMC’s ‘Bottom of the Ninth…The Walk-Off’ performance featuring Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and more to be announced, a “Queens of Hip Hop” set featuring Eve, Lil Kim, Remy Ma, Trina and more, as well as sets by additional performers including T.I., Fat Joe, Common, A$AP Ferg, EPMD, Ghostface Killah, Lupe Fiasco and Slick Rick.
Hip Hop 50 will also feature a “Pillars of Hip-Hop” set with Kool Herc & Cindy Campbell, Grandmaster Caz, Kurtis Blow, Melle Mel, Roxanne Shante, Scorpio and the Sugar Hill Gang. A “Legendary DJ” set will also take place with Clark Kent, Marley Marl, Mannie Fresh and Battlecat.
Presale begins on Thursday, June 8 at 10 a.m. EST until 10 p.m. EST before the general on sale on Friday, June 9 at 10 a.m. EST here.
