Lil Wayne Finally Releases Highly-Anticipated Album ‘Tha Carter V’

It’s been a long haul for Lil Wayne and the release of Tha Carter V.

Fans have waited years for this moment, starting back in 2012 when rumors first began to circulate about the album’s release. Out of the six years of anticipation, Wayne has spent the last three in a legal battle with Birdman over not receiving money for outstanding advances and ownership to the rights to his catalog. Settling the battle in July, Lil Wayne is now the sole owner of Young Money Records and will mark his first-album without Cash Money Records’ imprint.

Tha Carter V
serves as a follow-up to Lil Wayne’s 2011-project, Tha Carter IV. The ninth studio album featured “6 Foot 7 Foot” featuring Cory Gunz, “She Will” with Drake, and “How To Love.”

Lil Wayne returns with Tha Carter V with 23 tracks with appearances by XXXTentacion, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Reginae Carter, Ashanti, Snoop Dogg, Nivea, Travis Scott, Mack Maine, and Sosamann.
