During Sunday’s 2019 GRAMMY Awards show, Drake‘s 2018 Scorpion single, “God’s Plan” won Best Rap Song, beating Travis Scott‘s “Sicko Mode” (featuring Drake), Jay Rock‘s two singles “King’s Dead” and “WIN,” and Eminem‘s “Lucky You.”

Though Drake had declined to perform for the 61st annual show, the Toronto rapper still made an appearance and made his way from the back to center stage to accept his award.

During his acceptance speech, Drake said the following before the show cut to commercial:

“We play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport,” said Drake. “The point is, you’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for if you’re a hero in your hometown. Look, if people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain and snow, spending money to buy tickets to your shows, you don’t need this right here. You already won.”
