HSM’s Hamma Thang Sentenced to 9.5 Years in RICO Case

HSM’s Hamma Thang, who was among the ten individuals indicted on RICO Conspiracy, alongside his co-defendants G Fredo and 7981 Kal, was sentenced on Tuesday, Jan. 31, by U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin to 114 months in prison and four years of supervised release.
Back in April 2022, Hamma Thang born Samael Mathieu, pleaded guilty to RICO conspiracy and conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances. The charges stem from a 2020 indictment where 31 individuals were arrested and charged “in federal court in Boston for various crimes, including racketeering (“RICO”) conspiracy, violent crimes in aid of racketeering, drug trafficking, crossing state lines for the purpose of prostitution (the Mann Act), firearms charges and bank fraud,” according to the Department of Justice.
On Jan. 17, G Fredo was sentenced to nine years in prison and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to RICO conspiracy and conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances. He will reportedly be credited for time served, bringing his sentence to less than five years.
Last month, Mathieu was found not guilty on murder charges stemming from the 2018 shooting of Kelby Ramos.
HSM’s 7981 Kal is scheduled for sentencing in the coming months.
