Stunna Girl Calls Out Ciara and Her Team for Not Clearing 'Goodies' Sample in New Single 'Stand Up' miixtapechiick

Over the past few years, the music industry has witnessed a surge in the popularity of sampling records, fueled by the influence of platforms like TikTok and the increased streaming of back catalogues. Stunna Girl, a former Zeus Network reality star and rapper, embraced this trend by putting a unique twist on Ciaras 2004 hit, ‘Goodies,’ for her latest single featuring YG, titled ‘Stand Up.’ However, her excitement was overshadowed when Ciara issued a Copyright claim on the track on YouTube.

Stunna Girl took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to air out her grievances against the singer and her teaming citing that Ciara’s team contacted them about her.

Expressing her frustration on X (formerly known as Twitter), Stunna Girl vented about Ciara and her team, revealing that Ciara’s team had personally reached out to address the sampling. She also went into the challenges faced by artists when using samples, pointing out that some artists act as if they solely created the beat. Stunna Girl further emphasized what she perceived as a double standard in the treatment of sampled beats based on the artist’s racial background, noting, “But anytime I’ve used a beat sampled by a white artist, they didn’t care.”
