2 Chainz and Lil Wayne first collaborated on their initial ‘ColleGrove‘ project back in 2016. The project, which did not feature any collaborations, saw production handled by Southside, Mike Dean, London On Da Track, Mannie Fresh, Zaytoven, and more.
The dynamic duo has once again teamed up, gracing us with the sequel, ‘Welcome 2 ColleGrove,’ this time featuring contributions from 21 Savage, Fabolous, Usher, Vory, Benny the Butcher, Rick Ross, and Marsha Ambrosius.
“We’ve been working on it for some time, had a lot of clearance issues, but for the most part, we’re two hardworking individuals who go into the studio every night,” 2 Chainz recently shared with Apple Music. “So, I don’t think it was hard recording the music. It just was a process of getting the music out to the people. I think me and him just have that chemistry. We enjoy working with each other a lot, and there’s a lot of respect there. As I always say, still sharpen still. So, there’s always that little piece of anxiety of knowing that I got to make this verse better than the last one. I think it’s healthy. I believe competition is healthy in anything and everything that we do.”
