Cardi B Disses BIA on “Pretty & Petty”
Cardi B has officially aired out her issues with BIA on track 13 of her new album Am I The Drama?. Titled “Pretty & Petty,” the record contains direct shots aimed at the Boston rapper, with bars like “Name five BIA songs, gun pointed to your head / Bow, I’m dead,” and “I’d rather die on the surgery table / Before I gotta walk around here lookin’ like you.”
She continued, “Why you always at Diddy house? / I heard they combed that lil kitty out / Tell these folks what it’s really about,” before adding, “Diarrhea BIA, breath so stank / You can smell ‘em before you see ‘em.” Cardi also suggested that BIA only gets booked when “they can’t afford Coi,” referring to rapper Coi Leray.
Tensions between Cardi B and BIA go back to early 2024. In February, Cardi released her “Like What (Freestyle),” which sampled Missy Elliott’s “She’s A B***h.” Shortly after the record dropped, fans pointed out similarities to BIA’s 2023 record “I’m That B****h” featuring Timbaland, which sampled the same Missy song. BIA addressed the comparisons online, without mentioning Cardi directly. A month later, Cardi teased her new single “Enough (Miami),” and fans began to draw parallels to BIA’s “Fallback,” including similarities in visuals between Cardi’s new video and BIA’s “Millions.”
On April 5, BIA appeared on Dreezy’s “B***h Duh (Remix)” alongside Lakeyah and KenTheMan. In her verse, BIA rapped, “I hear bitches poppin’ shit and that’s so funny to me / How you say you runnin’ down but you can’t walk on the beat?” The bar was widely interpreted as being aimed at Cardi.
Cardi responded on May 31 with her verse on the official remix to GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be.” On the track, Cardi rapped, “Guess I’m a teacher since you wanna sub me / She did what? Had no idea / Thought she was on the shelf, IKEA / Hope she talk like that when I see her / Bitch please, don’t nobody wanna be ya (BIA).”
The following night, Cardi went live on Instagram to explain her side of the situation. She said she and BIA had a phone call that originally ended on good terms, but the beef reignited after Cardi heard BIA allegedly made comments about her cheating on Offset. On the livestream, Cardi said, “When you lie about my pussy, I’ma sue you and you better come with receipts.”
BIA responded by previewing a new diss track titled “Sue Me” on Instagram Live. In the clip, BIA rapped, “C-A-R-D-I, cry on IG / Catch another ‘tude ‘cause she couldn’t catch a beat / Do I beef with you or do I beef with Pardi? / You been scrapping projects since 2019.”
The beef, which kicked off last year, has now made its way onto Cardi’s own record. After previously responding on features, “Pretty & Petty” is her most direct shot yet. No word yet on whether BIA plans to respond.
