Dave East Teams Up With Harry Fraud for ‘HOFFA’ Album

DAVE EAST HOFFA

Last month, Harlem-bred Dave East teamed up with Millyz for the 6-track project, Pablo & Blanco.

Channeling the Colombian drug lord, Pablo Esobar, the rapper continues to channel notable mobsters with his latest offering, “HOFFA,” where he emulates James “Jimmy” Riddle Hoffa, an American labor union leader and former general president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) union. Hoffa disappeared on July 30, 1972, and was declared dead on the same day, seven years later.

Hoffa was reportedly murdered by the mafia.

You may remember the name Jimmy Hoffa resurface during the promo of the 2019 Netflix film release of The Irishman, starring Robert Dinero, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci; and directed by Martin Scorcese.

With the help of Brooklyn producer Harry Fraud, East wanted to be able to show off his writing skills in a different way.

“The last few tapes I put out, I was really just freestyling on the record,” East tells Vice. “When I write, I’m a lot more detailed, a lot more intricate with the shit I’m talking about.”

“HOFFA” serves as a follow-up to Dave East’s 2020 solo project, Karma 3 (Deluxe). Over the course of 14-tracks, “HOFFA” features guest appearances from Crunch Calhoun, Jim Jones, Steven Young, G Herbo, Benny The Butcher, French Montana, Curren$y, and the late Kiing Shooter

HOFFA drops on the anniversary of Jimmy Hoffa’s death.

After facing a barrage of diss tracks from the likes of Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar, and more, Drake returns with a response that appears to have leaked online.

Earlier this week, Rory and Mal of the New Rory and Mal podcast teased the diss on episode 258, with Rory dropping hints like, “Drop down & give me 50,” a line directly lifted from Drake’s response.

Now, the Toronto native fires back, airing out his grievances towards his peers over a 4-minute track sampling Notorious B.I.G.‘s “Get Money.”

Drake’s response to Kendrick Lamar:

“What’s a Prince to a king? He a son, n****”

“Pip squeak pipe down, you ain’t in no big three, SZA got you wipe down, Travis got you wiped down, Savage got you wiped down, like your label boy you Interscope right now” “How the f*** you been big steppin with size 7 mens on”

“Maroon 5 need a verse, you better make it witty, then we need a verse for the Swifties, Top say you drop, you better drop and give up fiftyyy”

Drake’s reply to J. Cole’s apology for dissing Kendrick Lamar: “And that f*cking song y’all got is not starting beef with us/This sh*t been brewing in a pot, now I’m heating up/I don’t care what Cole think, that Dot sh*t was weak as f*ck”

Drake’s clapback at Rick Ross:

“I might take ya latest girl and cuff her like Ricky, can’t believe he’s jumping in, this n**** turning 50, every song that made it on the chart he got from Drizzy, worry bout whatever going on with you and—”

Drake’s response to Metro Boomin:
