Juelz Santana was sentenced to 27 months in prison by a Newark, New Jersey judge yesterday (Dec. 19), following a guilty plea after being in possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft.

Santana was arrested back in March after a .38-caliber handgun was found in his luggage during a security check at Newark Liberty International Airport. Unprescribed oxycodone pills were also recovered from his luggage and the Dipset rapper had fled the scene.

Later turning himself in, Santana, who is a convicted felon, was sentenced to house arrest in his mother’s home until trial. The rapper pled guilty in August.

Though it is not known when he will begin serving his sentence, Santana will be under supervised release for 12 months following his time served.
