Over the past month, Kendrick Lamar has been teaming up with the Boston’s sneaker brand, Reebok, to release a slew of classic kicks including the Revenge Plus Vintage pack and the newly released ‘Perfect Split’ pack.
In celebration of the newly released ‘Perfect Split’ pack, the Compton native teamed up with acclaimed director Nabil to premiere the final the version of the campaign, this time in color. Previously released in black and white, Lamar decided to launch the Classic Leather Perfect Split pack in color as a reflection of the split sides to his personality.
Kendrick Lamar accompanied the launch of the new sneakers with a visual where he talks about his beginning as a rapper and how he was introduced to Reebok.
When you think about rhymes and style you always want a classic feel. So my first introduction to a classic shoe was the moment I stepped in school, and I said to myself, ‘I want to put something down on paper.’ I started writing. And everybody in the classroom was wearing Reebok classic. Hip-hop was more than just the music. It’s part of culture. It’s part of having style. It’s part of the whole graffiti and arts.
The new Reebok Classic Leather Perfect Split pack comes in five different colors with ‘split’ rubber outsole featuring retro GUM and contemporary ICE color blocking and is available now for both men and women for $74.99 at Reebok.com.
