New Music: Lil’ Baby & Joyner Lucas – Ramen & OJ

Published

on

Lil Baby has been a force to be reckoned with. Over the last two years, the rapper hasn’t stopped his grind, appearing on numerous tracks including, Drake‘s “Wants and Needs,” Pop Smoke‘s “For the Night” and T.I.’s “Pardon” just to name a few.

After linking up with Megan Thee Stallion on his single, “On Me,” Lil Baby returns for a second time this week alongside Joyner Lucas for his latest collaboration, “Ramen & OJ.”

Serving as Lucas’ first release since his October project, EVOLUTION, “Ramen & OJ” is special to the Worcester-native as the record was an independent production, created with the empowering artists’ platform, Tully. The Tully App, co-founded by Lucas and manager/technology entrepreneur Dhruv Joshi, allows artists to take control of their work, from the production and workflow, down to the distribution and software management.

“I wanted to have all the power of a label and artist management company in my hands wherever I was and whatever I was doing because my focus needs to be on creating,” Lucas says. “With Tully, I can see what everyone on my team and on a project is doing and that gives me the confidence to stay on track with what I’ve got to do because I need to know that they’ve got my back.”

Fridayy Teams Up with Chris Brown on "Don't Give It Away"

Fridayy has had an impactful start in the industry appearing on DJ Khaled‘s “God Did” alongside JAY-Z, John Legend, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne last August. Since performing the record at the 65th annual Grammys, the Philly-native has released a few records here and there and has appeared on Moneybagg Yo‘s latest mixtape, Hard To Love.

Releasing the slow ballad freestyle “Calling 4 You” last month, Fridayy returns with a new single teaming up with Chris Brown on his latest effort, “Don’t Give It Away.” Though he’s trying to get away from his toxic ways, this is definitely a record to play throughout the summer.

Gunna Makes a Triumphant Comeback with 'bread & butter,' His First New Song Since Jail Release

Almost six months since his release from prison after taking an Alford Plea in the groundbreaking YSL RICO case, Gunna makes his return to music with ‘bread & butter.’

“Never gave no statement or agreed to take no stand on ’em / On whatever you n- – – – – on, then trust me, I’ma stand on it / Lawyers and the DA did some sneaky shit, I fell for it,” Gunna raps.

The record comes after Lil Durk sat down with Akademiks and gave his take on where he stands with Gunna:

“If you ever told, if you ever tell, I hate you,” said Durk. “Like, with a passion. I don’t sit up here and play games, man. [Gunna] told. You should have went in there and kept your mouth closed.”

“I never unfollowed him [on IG],” he continued. “I don’t know why I didn’t. I just don’t take Instagram and all that type sh*t serious. But if you a rat, you a rat. If you rewind the clip a little bit, I looked into the camera, and I told you, if you a rat, I f**king hate you. Because I love Thug.”
