Pop Smoke Dies At 20-Years-Old Following A Home Invasion

Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke has reportedly died after a home invasion, TMZ has learned.

Born Bashar Barakah Jackson, the 20-year-old artist was fatally shot in Hollywood Hills, Calif. following a home invasion where two men broke inside the home and fatally shot the Welcome to the Woo rapper at around 4:30 a.m. Following the shooting, the two men fled on foot.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to the Daily News that a 20-year-old was indeed shot by two masked men. Pop Smoke was taken to Ceders-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood where he was pronounced dead.

Pop Smoke rose to fame after the release of his 2019 single, “Welcome to the Party” followed by his projects, Meet the Woo and his Welcome to the Woo, Vol. 1 LP. Last week, Pop Smoke released his sophomore effort, Meet the Woo 2 which featured contributions from Quavo, Fivio Foreign, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and more.

Lil Durk and India Royale Reportedly Fired Shots at Gunmen During Home Invasion

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation are reportedly investigating a home invasion that went down in Lil Durk’s home.

According to TMZ, the home invasion occurred around 5 a.m., Sunday, July 10 at Durk’s home, located in Braselton, Georgia, an hour outside of Atlanta. It was reported that the “Should’ve Duck” rapper and his girlfriend, India Royale were inside the home during the invasion and exchanged gunfire with several unidentified suspects. GBI reports that the suspects fled the scene and are still at large. No injuries were reported.

H.E.R. Announces Forthcoming Reggae Album

Just a few weeks removed from her latest project Back Of my Mind, H.E.R. has revealed that her next project will be reggae-inspired.

During her interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1, H.E.R. stated that she loves the Caribbean culture and wants to go all-in in celebrating it.

“Honestly I love Caribbean music,” H.E.R. tells Ebro. “I didn’t really have a full appreciation of it until I moved to New York, until I went to the East Coast, and I got into dancehall and I got into some of the more uptempo club records. I literally have been a huge fan of reggae since I was a young kid.”

News of a new reggae album serves as a follows behind H.E.R.’s June release Back Of My Mind which featured contributions from Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Baby, and Yung Bleu. The songstress also announced the return of her now sold-out Lights On Festival in Concord, Calif. The two-day event will feature performances by Erykah Badu, Bryson Tiller, and Keyshia Cole.

Lil Baby Reportedly Arrested In Paris After Transporting Narcotics

Lil Baby was reportedly arrested in Paris on Thursday, July 8, for transporting narcotics.

According to reports, the vehicle that the “Drip Too Hard’ rapper was riding reeked of cannabis. At 4:50 pm on 33 avenue Montaigne, The Parisian police investigated the vehicle and recovered 20 grams of weed, found in the vehicle’s glove compartment.

James Harden, who was riding with Lil Baby, was detained but released soon after. Lil Baby, however, remains in custody.

The Parisian police arrested three individuals, including Lil Baby, and charged them with transporting narcotics. It is still an active investigation.

Lil Baby and James Harden were in Paris for Paris Fashion Week.
