Earlier this month, SZA released her long-awaited single “Shirt,” after going viral on Tik Tok.
The release was follow-up by a visual teaser from TDE’s first lady titled, “PSA.” Premiered on her birthday, the visual featured an S.O.S message at the end which has alluded fans to believe that S.O.S. is the title of SZA’s forthcoming album.
Today, Billboard dropped their latest R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players issue with an official cover story with SZA where she revealed confirmed her new album titled ‘S.O.S.’ and stated that the album would be dropping in December.
“I hate the red tape analytics of dropping anything — it’s so stressful,” she told Billboard. “I definitely have heard [the term ‘digital service provider’] more this week and last week than I have ever. I don’t like the way it sounds — it sounds stressful and like something that requires a lot of attention and maneuvering. I hate the word ‘single.’ It’s like, ‘What the f–k separates a single from other sh-t on my album that I like? Why does it have to be different?’ ”
