TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith is not happy with the new RIAA rules for album sales. The RIAA as of February 1st is now counting every 1,500 audio or video streams as 10 equivalent sales which would also equivalent to one album sale. As a result of the change, 18 albums were newly certified ranging from Gold to 32x Platinum. TDE’s very own Kendrick Lamar’s recent album To Pimp A Butterfly is now Platinum based on the new rules but the TDE camp don’t seem to be celebrating. Top Dawg made it clear on Twitter he doesn’t stand by the new RIAA rules and advises everyone to save the congratulations.
