Florida rapper YNW Melly, born Jamell Demons (19), has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing fellow artists YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy.

According to police, Demons shot the two victims, Anthony Williams (YNW Sakchaser), 21, and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy), 19, on Oct. 28, 2018; they were described to be his close friends.

The arrest comes after Miramir police’s four-month investigation which concluded Demons was one of two shooters, supported by forensic evidence. Miramir police believe Demons was allegedly working with a second shooter, Cortlen Henry (YNW Bortlen), 20, who has also been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

The South Florida Sun Seninel reports that Demons and Henry tried to make the murder look like a drive-by shooting.

Last seen alive at 3:20 a.m. on Oct. 26 in Fort Lauderdale, Williams and Thomas had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were driven to Memorial Hospital Miramar at 4:35 a.m.

The two were pronounced dead after being brought into the emergency room. Henry was allegedly the driver of the vehicle.

Demons mourned the death of his friends on social media, stating he lost the two to gun violence.

When giving their statements, Miramir police stated that Henry’s story did not match the evidence discovered during their preliminary investigation. Henry was arrested in Houston back in January and extradited to Broward jail on Tuesday, Feb. 12 after his first hearing.

A bond has not been set.

YNW Melly’s debut album We All Shine released in January.

On Friday, May 17, CNN obtained footage showing Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs physically assaulting his former girlfriend and Bad Boy artist, Cassie, at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

The surveillance footage, dating back to 2016, shows Diddy chasing Ventura, who was seen standing at a set of elevators, and proceed to grab and shove her to the ground. He then kicks her, and takes what appears to be her purse and suitcase from the floor. Diddy then drags her by her sweater towards a room. Ventura is later seen slowly getting up and collecting items from the floor.

Diddy returns moments later, sits on a chair, grabs an object off a table, and throws it at Ventura. He is then seen walking away, but turns back toward Ventura when an elevator door opens and someone exits.

Ventura’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, told CNN: “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

In November, Cassie, born Cassandra Ventura, initiated legal proceedings against Diddy, born Sean Combs, alleging years of control, rape, and prolonged physical abuse spanning over a decade. The two parties reached a settlement 24 hours later.

Akademiks, born Livingston Allen, has been sued for sexual assault, rape, and defamation.

The civil suit, filed by his ex-girlfriend Ziya Abashe in Essex County, NJ, on Monday, accuses Akademiks of rape and defamation. According to her attorney Tyrone Blackburn, the suit states that in July 2022, Akademiks invited Abashe to his house, where two of his male friends allegedly drugged her, got her drunk, and raped her.

The lawsuit further alleges that Abashe woke up naked in what she believed to be Mr. Allen’s bedroom around 4 a.m., where she was savagely attacked by Mr. Allen, who allegedly pulled her hair, pried open her legs, and brutally raped her.

Abashe claims to have seen video footage of the incident from surveillance cameras at the property. She also stated that Akademiks asked her to get tested afterward, saying he would do the same. The survivor reported taking a rape kit and making an audio recording of Akademiks discussing the act, as directed by the police.

“I look crazy right now but I’m not going to stand here and let this man continue to lie about me. That’s not what happened Akademiks, you know that’s not what happened,” she said during an Instagram Live in 2023.

Rolling Stone, who first reported the lawsuit, reached out to Akademiks who has not responded for comment.
