#MASSMONDAYS: Prey G, YounginTrue, Dre Robinson, Cliff Notez & Dephrase, TRENCHBOYZ
As we begin a new week, we’re jammed with a bunch of new music coming out of the state. This one is special considering the uncultured article that the Boston Globe released this past week regarding the music scene in the city; but, we’re not giving them shine on this side.
Check out the new music and projects released by Prey G, YounginTrue, Dre Robinson, Cliff Notez & Dephrase and TRENCHBOYZ below.
Video: Prey G – Love, First
You may remember Prey G on the site around this time last year when she released her banger, “Dead Dogs.” After being in the lab cooking, the rapper returns with her debut visual, “Love, First.”
After trying to guard her heart and feelings, Prey G is sadden as she may have lost her first love for simply trying to protect herself.
(Can I just say I’m so happy that this is on streaming services cause you will SEE ME blasting this record in the morning).
Album Stream: YounginTrue – Coldest Vibe
YounginTrue drops his third executive-produced album, Coldest Vibe. Serving as a follow-up to EastSide FairyTales, YounginTrue teased fans with what to expect after releasing the official video to the project cut, “Clueless.”
Jam-packed with 20 tracks, the love story takes place in Miami where YounginTrue tries to bag a woman in front of his friends. Denying his advances, the artist vows to make her fall in love with her.
With help from Alejandro Blanco, Prince Smooth and Young Zo, the Hood Blues Sound artist takes us on a journey – from describing how memorized he was when he met his beau on “Rider Sway” sampling O’Ryan‘s Take It Slow, their first date on “San Fierro,” and of course all the bullshit that can happen in a relationship in between.
Coldest Vibe also samples Ciara‘s “And I,” Beyonce & Jay-Z’s “03 Bonnie & Clyde,” and Usher & R. Kelly‘s “Same Girl.”
EP: Dre Robinson – Golden in My State
New to miixtapechiick.com, Dre Robinson recently dropped his debut EP, Golden in My State.
Over six tracks, Robinson shows us just how serious he is about his craft off the first track alone titled, “Fresh Out of Lines.” With his witty punchlines and aggressive delivery, it’s safe to say that bars is his game around here.
To prove it, you can check out Robinson’s Instagram, where he’s been posting a freestyle every Friday as part of his #50ForFriday series.

EP: Cliff Notez & Dephrase – Social Absense
Cliff Notez and Dephrase aren’t strangers around this city, but here’s their first feature on miixtapechiick.com
Earlier this month, the duo dropped the single, “Voodoo Doll” featuring Latrell James, before dropping their brand new project, Social Absence.
“Voodoo Doll” hits home, especially for someone like me who’s creative, but has to work to live and live to work every single day. It gets tiring, but Cliff Notez and Dephrase certainly feel my pain and yours.
Social Absence is different for a person like me who’s used to listening to hardcore rap all the time BUT I understand it. From wanting to just ignore my phone all day long and escape from the world to having to practice social distancing on a regular basis, it becomes a lot and Cliff Notez and Dephase are here to share the pain with us.

Video: TRENCHBOYZ – ‘Hot In Here’
Though we’ve spent pretty much the whole summer in quarantine, TRENCHBOYZ said they were still bringing the heat, regardless.
Deciding to remix Nelly‘s 2002-single, “Hot In Here,” Gunnz Haf, Leon Lavvish, Flipskinnyflip and Chasing May come through with a twist over The Neptunes-produced track.

Kendrick Lamar Drops ANOTHER Drake Diss Track “Not Like Us”
In the early hours of Saturday, May 3, Drake unleashed “FAMILY MATTERS,” taking aim at Kendrick Lamar. In retaliation, Lamar fired back within the hour with his response, “meet the Grahams.”
The saga continues as Kendrick has unleashed yet another scathing diss track titled “Not Like Us.” Over Mustard‘s production, Lamar continues to confront Drake, exposing allegations of underage relationships, entanglements with Lil Wayne’s girlfriend, and much more.
The cover art for the single shows Drake’s Toronto mansion with markers typically reserved for identifying sex offenders.
“Say Drake I hear you like em young, to any b*tch that talk to em and they in love, make sure you hide your little sister from em,” Kendrick spits.

Kendrick Lamar Fires Back at Drake with Diss Track ‘meet the grahams’
Kendrick Lamar did not take kindly to Drake‘s latest diss track, “FAMILY MATTERS,” and has fired back with another diss towards the Toronto rapper an hour later on a track titled “meet the grahams.”
On the latest diss track, Kendrick is extremely direct, bringing up Drake’s mother, father, and son. He also reveals that Drake is hiding another child, a baby girl, and doubles down on claims that Drake is dating underage girls.
On Drake’s alleged second child:
“I’d like to say it’s not your fault that he’s hiding another child/Give him grace/That’s the reason I made Mr. Morale.”
Drake’s mother, Sandra:
“Dear Sandra, your son got some habits/I hope you don’t undermine them.”
“Your son’s a sick man with sick thoughts/I think n—-s like him should die/Him and Weinstein should get fucked up in a cell for the rest of they life/ And we’ve gotta raise our daughters knowing there’s predators like him lurkin’/Fuck a rap battle, he should die, so all of these women can live with a purpose.”
Drake’s father, Dennis:
“You raised a horrible fuckin’ person/The nerve of you, Dennis”

Drake Responds To Kendrick Lamar With New Diss ‘FAMILY MATTERS’
It’s been an entertaining two weeks as Drake and Kendrick Lamar have been sparring in a lyrical battle.
Since Kendrick’s diss towards Drake on Metro Boomin and Future‘s We Don’t Trust You track, “Like That,” Drake returned fire with two diss tracks titled, “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” Kendrick Lamar then returned with two tracks towards Drake titled, “Euphoria” and “6:16 in LA.”
The two rappers aren’t done yet, as Drake has just released his response to Kendrick titled “Family Matters.” On the diss track, things get personal as Drake brings up Kendrick’s wife, Whitney Alford.
“Say you hate the girls I fuck but what you really mean / I been with Black and white and everything in between / You the Black messiah wifing up a mixed queen / And hit vanilla cream to help out with your self-esteem.”
Drake also implies that Kendrick’s kids aren’t his, but are actually Dave Free’s, Kendrick Lamar’s longtime creative partner.
“Why you never hold your son and tell him say cheese / We could have left the kids out of this don’t blame me,” he raps.
“Our sons should go play at the park / Two light-skinned kids, that shit would be cute / Unless you don’t want to be seen with anyone that’s Blacker than you”
