Cardi B Returns With New Single ‘Hot Sh*t’ Featuring Lil Durk & Kanye West
Since the release of Invasion of Privacy, Cardi B has gone on to release top-charting singles including ‘WAP‘ and ‘Up‘ and also found herself featured on Normani‘s “Wild Side,” Summer Walker‘s ‘No Love’ remix and Kay Flock‘s “Shake It.”
As she prepares for the release of her sophomore album, Cardi B returns with her brand new single, ‘Hot Sh*t.’ After releasing the trailer during the BET Awards, Cardi B links up with Lil Durk and Kanye West over the Tay Keith-produced track.
Prior to the record’s release, Cardi sat down with Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1 about the release and collaborating with Kanye West and Lil Durk.
“Kanye gave me this verse a couple of months ago when he was just all over the media, because of all of the things that were going on, and I like how his verse it’s personal, but it’s not that personal,” she said. “It’s enjoyable in the clubs that you could be like, “Yeah, yeah. You talk your big cash.” I really love it. And I’m so happy that he gave me this verse. And I had a lot of conversations with Kanye west. I learned so much about him and he’s such an amazing, sweet person. I’ve been feeling like, I wish a lot of people have conversations with him so they could just see the real…the him.”
As far as Lil Durk, Cardi admitted it was the label’s idea. “You know what’s so crazy? I never spoke to Lil Durk before, right? I was having a meeting with my label and everything and I was like, “It is missing something. We still missing a artist to it.” And it said, “How about Lil Durk?” And I’m like, “Yeah. All right. Send it to him.” And as soon as they sent the record, the next day, I feel like a couple of hours, they was like, “Oh yeah, he sent in the verse.” I was like, “Oh s**t.” And I loved it right away. He just for that young energy to the record.”

Back in 2021, Drake and Kanye West had ended their longstanding feud to hold a benefit concert for Larry Hoover to “raise awareness of the need for prison and sentencing reform.” This relationship between the two artists turned sour during the feud between G.O.O.D. Music president, Pusha T and Drake. Drake accused Kanye of leaking the news that he had a son to Pusha T.
Drake later stated that he only did the concert as a favor for J. Prince.
