In April of 2015, a gunman opened fired on Lil Wayne’s tour bus as the rapper was leaving an Atlanta nightclub, following a performance. Though no one was injured, the culprit, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, was found and made a deal with prosecutors for 20 years in prison.

Winfrey admitted that he was hired by Birdman to take TuneChi out, as the time of the incident occurred during the ongoing legal battle between Cash Money and Lil Wayne.

As a result of Winfrey’s cooperation with prosecutors, Birdman and Young Thug are now under criminal investigation, according to The Cobb County, GA D.A., who told TMZ this past Friday.
