It’s been a long journey for Bobby Shmurda and GS9 affiliates Chad “Rowdy Rebel” Marshall and Nicholas McCoy after being arrested back in 2014 for drug conspiracy charges, and firearm possession, among several other charges throughout the past two years. After facing bail denials, delayed hearings, and lawyer charges, Shmurda and his co-defendants have decided to accept a global plea deal from the prosecution following their court hearing today, according to Billboard.

The trio has collectively agreed to serve a seven-year sentence rather than stand trial, which was supposed to start on Monday. Shmurda pleaded guilty to 4th-degree conspiracy, which carries a sentence of 1-3 years, and 2nd-degree criminal weapons possession, which carries a sentence of 7 years. Allowed to serve these sentences consecutively, the Brooklyn rapper will be serving a total seven years of in prison altogether. Unfortunately, Bobby Shmurda cannot appeal his plea deal, but has been granted credit for the two years he has already served. Therefore, Shmurda has five years left remaining on his sentence.
