Recent interactions between Doja Cat and her devoted fan base have sparked tension and negativity in online communities. The artist’s responses to her followers’ messages on social media have left some fans feeling hurt and disappointed.

In now-deleted posts on Threads, Doja Cat shared a statement about her life, leading to a follower’s plea for love and appreciation. Doja Cat’s response to this and another fan’s message escalated the situation, resulting in backlash and subsequent account deactivation.

“My life, my rules, my style, my attitude,” read Doja Cat’s initial post on Threads. When a fan responded, “I wanna hear you say (I do love you guys) as you usually say to your fans,” Doja replied, “I don’t, though, cuz I don’t even know y’all,” striking a chord with fans.

“We have supported you through thick and thin. Mind you, you’d be nothing without us. You’d be working in a grocery store.”

Another fan weighed in, asserting the role of fans in Doja Cat’s rise to fame. However, Doja Cat’s response to this comment did not alleviate the mounting tensions.

“Nobody forced you. Idk why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother; bitch, you sound like a crazy person.”

Following the heated exchange, fans have decided to delete their stan accounts, a strong indication of their disillusionment with Doja Cat.

As Doja Cat’s new album release approaches, and her The Scarlet Tour with Ice Spice and Doechii is set to kick off on Oct. 31, the artist fate faces an interesting road ahead.
