Published

hAPPY 617 DAY

We’re now halfway through 2019 and today (June 17) marks Boston’s official day by area code, 617.

With Boston being engulfed with talent from 23 different neighborhoods (one may only count six or seven), you normally can catch your favorite local artist at a Good Music Showcase, Black Cotton Club or in magazines like Dig Boston or the now debunked Improper Bostonian.

We hope this post and website overall will be on your list of ‘go to’s’ when looking for what music is buzzing in the city of Boston and state of Massachusetts (you know I had to sneak a few people in).

Former City Girls member JT has released her debut solo mixtape, City Cinderella.

Supported by the previously released singles “No Bars,” “Sideways,” “Okay,” and the “Okay (Remix)” featuring Jeezy, the project features 17 tracks with additional contributions from DJ Khaled, Stunna Girl, and Clip.

City Cinderella serves as a follow-up to City Girls’ last studio album, Raw. The mixtape was also accompanied by a documentary showcasing JT’s process of creating the mixtape.

“People work on their albums for a year; albums are just different. So City Cinderella is not my first album, being that I made this project so damn fast,” the Miami rapper told PAPER. “I had to create this project throughout the tour and moving around, so I didn’t have time to really nurture and doctor it. This is just something that I’m putting out with my pure instincts.”
