As we entered 2018, J. Cole‘s name began to pop up as he was scheduled to serve as a headliner to a slew of festivals. What later ended up being a set up to promote his now fifth studio album K.O.D., it’s safe to say that fans couldn’t be any happier. Becoming more engaging with fans on social media, J. Cole quickly stepped back, as he continues to stand by his views of social media being addicting and depressing.

However, before the Dreamville rapper completely goes ghost again – he did us justice and sat down with legendary hip-hop radio host, Angie Martinez, during Rolling Loud weekend in Miami. The last we saw these two sit down was during Martinez’s first few months over at Power 105.1. Conducting an interview that found Cole opening up much more in comparison to previous sitdowns, Martinez used Cole’s words of kindness and affirmations in the foreword of her book, My Voice.

Four years later in completely different headspaces, the friendship and openness between Cole and Angie still remain the same.

In the new interview, J. Cole talks about Drake texting him, “I hate you,” in a joking manner after solidifying the #1 spot on Spotify for most first-day streams for his album K.O.D., the recent “Fuck J. Cole” chants at Smokepurpp shows, what he thinks of the new generation of rap, and much more.

On “Fuck J. Cole” Chants:

“That ‘Fuck J. Cole’ chant you’ve seen, that was prominent for at least a year before that song [‘1985’] came out […] There was a whole energy happening which was new to me […] I was genuinely confused. Why are they saying this? Who is saying this. Are they for real?”

On the new wave of “Lil” rappers:

“I love them […] I actually fuck with their music. It’s not like I drive around listening to it, but I’ve spent time with it. It’s fun.”

It’s been an entertaining two weeks as Drake and Kendrick Lamar have been sparring in a lyrical battle.

Since Kendrick’s diss towards Drake on Metro Boomin and Future‘s We Don’t Trust You track, “Like That,” Drake returned fire with two diss tracks titled, “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” Kendrick Lamar then returned with two tracks towards Drake titled, “Euphoria” and “6:16 in LA.”

The two rappers aren’t done yet, as Drake has just released his response to Kendrick titled “Family Matters.” On the diss track, things get personal as Drake brings up Kendrick’s wife, Whitney Alford.

“Say you hate the girls I fuck but what you really mean / I been with Black and white and everything in between / You the Black messiah wifing up a mixed queen / And hit vanilla cream to help out with your self-esteem.”

Drake also implies that Kendrick’s kids aren’t his, but are actually Dave Free’s, Kendrick Lamar’s longtime creative partner.

“Why you never hold your son and tell him say cheese / We could have left the kids out of this don’t blame me,” he raps.

“Our sons should go play at the park / Two light-skinned kids, that shit would be cute / Unless you don’t want to be seen with anyone that’s Blacker than you”

The suit details an incident where Garcia allegedly found himself trapped in a moving SUV with Megan whileshe engaged in sexual activity with another woman during their time in Ibiza, Spain.

According to court documents, “The following day, STALLION inquired whether PLAINTIFF was in the SUV the previous night. PLAINTIFF confirmed that he was in the SUV. Subsequently, STALLION instructed, ‘Don’t ever discuss what you saw.’ STALLION berated and directed her fat-shaming comments towards PLAINTIFF such as ‘Fat Bitch,’ ‘Spit your food out,’ and that ‘You don’t need to be eating.’”
