Nipsey Hussle’s Murder Trial Postponed
Published
4 years agoon
Last month, Eric Holder, the man accused of killing Los Angeles rapper, Nipsey Hussle, was scheduled to go on trial. However, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, stay-at-home orders were put in place and the L.A. County Clerk offices were forced to close until further notice, since March 23rd.
Holder, 30, has been in jail since April 2019, following the shooting of Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, 33, outside of his Marathon Clothing store in South Los Angeles. The Victory Lap rapper was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Holder, who fled the scene, was found 30 miles away attempting to check into a mental health facility just two days later. The 30-year-old was arrested and has since pleaded not guilty to six charges including one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
The accused murderer was set to be represented by attorney Christopher Darden, who is famously known for serving as a prosecutor during the O.J. Simpson trial. However, after receiving multiple death threats, Darden dropped the case.
Holder is scheduled to go on trial on June 8, according to Vibe. He is currently being held at the Twin Towers Facility in Downtown Los Angeles. If convicted, Holder will reportedly face the maximum of life in prison sentence.
